Change your perspective NOW

I recently read a chapter in a self-help book which talked about our perspective in life, meaning how we judge individual situations.

The article told the story of two brothers who grew up with a criminal father who was addicted to alcohol and drugs and who spent years in jail.

One of the brothers grew up to be just like his father, a criminal. The other, however, became a successful businessman and a loving father.

When asked, separately, why they had become the way they were, they both answered: What other choice did I have, growing up with a father like that?

Interesting! This story sticks with me because its a perfect example of the power of our actions and daily judgements.

It is our choice how we deal with a bad situation! Once again, I find this idea truly liberating. We are not shaped by the circumstances of our lives, we shape the circumstances!
